Cookie Policy

Information on the use of cookies and similar technologies in the app.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser when you use a website or app. They allow us to recognise your device, maintain your session, remember specific settings and ensure the app works properly.

Technologies similar to cookies, such as local storage, session storage or other local browser mechanisms, may also be used in the app. In this Cookie Policy, we refer to them collectively as ‘cookies’ or ‘similar technologies’.

Nature of the application

The application is a research prototype that uses artificial intelligence to analyse responses and generate recommendations. Consequently, cookies and similar technologies may be used primarily to ensure the application functions correctly, maintain the user’s session, remember consent to cookies, and enable continued use of the prototype.

The application does not require you to provide your first name, surname, email address or any other identifying information.

What cookies do we use?

Essential cookies

These cookies are necessary for the application to function properly and cannot be disabled via the application settings. You can block them in your browser settings, but this may cause the application to malfunction.

Essential cookies may include:

  • security-related cookies;
  • user session cookies;
  • cookies used to ensure forms function correctly;
  • cookies or similar technologies used to remember application settings;
  • cookies storing information about consent or refusal of cookies;
  • cookies or similar technologies needed to maintain continuity of use of the prototype.

Functional cookies

Functional cookies enhance the convenience of using the application and remember the user’s selected settings.

They may include:

  • remembering user preferences;
  • handling forms;
  • maintaining the context of application use;
  • remembering settings selected by the user;
  • improving the operation of the application interface.

If functional cookies are not necessary for the application to function, they will only be used if you give your consent, where such consent is required by law.

Analytical cookies

Analytical cookies help us understand how users interact with the application so that we can develop, improve and evaluate the prototype’s performance.

They may include information regarding:

  • the number of visits;
  • how the app is used;
  • time spent in the app;
  • the most frequently used features;
  • technical errors;
  • the overall effectiveness of the prototype.

Analytical cookies are not essential for the application to function. If the application uses analytical tools that require consent, they will only be activated once consent has been given.

Cookies and the AI model

Cookies are not used to train the artificial intelligence model.

However, the application may use cookies or similar technologies to maintain a session, preserve the context of application use, or ensure the proper functioning of a form, the responses to which are then analysed using the OpenAI model to generate recommendations.

Detailed information on the processing of user responses, the use of the OpenAI model, and the use of data for prototype validation and the Master’s thesis can be found in the Privacy Policy.

Third-party cookies

The application may use the services of external technology providers, in particular the hosting provider and the AI model provider.

Depending on the application’s configuration, external providers may process certain technical data or use their own technical mechanisms necessary to provide their services.

The application uses:

  • OVHcloud — for hosting and technical infrastructure;
  • OpenAI — for analysing responses and generating recommendations via an AI language model.

If additional analytical tools, marketing tools, maps, videos, social media plugins or other external content are implemented in the application, they may use their own cookies. Information regarding such tools should be included in this Cookie Policy or in the cookie banner.

Managing cookies

You can control and manage cookies in several ways.

Browser settings

Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can change your settings to block them, delete them or receive notifications before they are stored.

Instructions for selected browsers:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies;
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies;
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Cookies;
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.

Consent settings in the app

If the app uses cookies other than those that are strictly necessary, you can manage your consent via the cookie banner or the cookie settings panel, provided such a panel is available.

You can change your cookie preferences at any time by deleting cookies in your browser settings or by using the available consent management mechanism.

Impact of disabling cookies

Disabling certain cookies may affect the functioning of the application. Some features may not work properly or at all.

This may apply in particular to:

  • maintaining the user’s session;
  • remembering settings;
  • handling forms;
  • continuing to use the prototype;
  • remembering consent or refusal of consent to cookies;
  • analytical functions;
  • detecting technical errors.

Cookie retention period

Cookies may be stored for varying lengths of time, depending on their type and purpose:

  • session cookies — until the browser is closed or the session ends;
  • persistent cookies — for the period specified in the settings of the relevant file or until they are deleted by the user;
  • consent cookies — for the period necessary to remember your choice regarding cookies;
  • analytical cookies — for the period resulting from the configuration of the analytics tool, if such a tool is used.

Changes to the Cookie Policy

We reserve the right to update this Cookie Policy, in particular in the event of changes to how the application operates, the implementation of new tools, changes to technology providers or changes in legislation.

The current version of the Cookie Policy will be available within the application.
